The children's author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.
Acclaimed children's author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.
A spokesman for the firm commented: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the move was taken subsequent to an investigation into reports of inappropriate behaviour directed at young women.
The publisher has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."
An Illustrious Publishing History
Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, having sold over six tens of millions of copies internationally in 55 languages.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.
Some of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.
To date, he has released over four dozen titles combined, which features a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.
A Dual Career
He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.
This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
