Kansas City Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Allegations Connected to Player Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise issued a statement Wednesday night stating they have knowledge of claims of abuse made public in online accounts by a former girlfriend of player Rashee Rice and had been in contact with the NFL.
The team did not mention the player by name in their announcement and said they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention Rice by name, shared a set of images on social media that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. She did say the person involved was the parent of her kids, and it is known she has kids with the football player, whom the team selected in the second round.
Police Reports Currently Not on File
No police reports were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Player's Prior Off-Field Troubles
Rice was absent for the initial part of this NFL campaign following an league-mandated ban for his role in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that left several individuals injured. Rice was sentenced 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to felony charges.
On the field, he concluded the year with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs went with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
